1st Grade 
Self Esteem Unit


Our first grade students developed questions to write their biographies.
Using complete sentences the students answered the questions they developed.
Students wrote their responses in a short paragraph. 

Students worked on penmanship and punctuation.  
Students then typed their biographies using the Microsoft Word Program.

2nd Grade 
Pioneer Unit
Students are reading "I'm Sorry Almira Ann" by Jane Kurtz

Students are researching topics discussed throughout the book. Students selected topics they wanted to learn more about.
Students keep track of their progress using the "Independent Study Plan Bulletin". Every students is represented by a "bee" they decorated. Grade levels are identified by the color of the thumb tack.  
3rd Grade 
Forms of Government Unit
The students are reading "James and the Giant Peach". They selected a topic of interest, related to the story to research. Students will be presenting their findings to the class.

Students are working on a group project involving a problem on campus.
The group came to an agreement that our campus needs a playground. Our campus does not have one since our campus is only three years old.

 


Together they researched for ways of raising money to buy equipment for a new playground. 

 

The students found out about Box Tops for Education and developed a Power Point presentation to share the information with our campus.

3rd Grade 
Forms of Government Unit

Students are working on Science Projects

With the use of computers in class students research and find information about their projects.

Students will share their studies with the class through Power Point Presentations.
